Salman fans beaten by guards in Dubai

Dubai, Feb 4: Fans of Bollywood actor Salman Khan were allegedly beaten by private security staff, the media reported.

Salman was in town to inaugurate a footwear shop in the Sharjah shopping mall on Friday and fans and media alike were invited to attend the event.

About 30,000 people turned up to see the actor. Trouble started when some people turned reckless and security became heavy handed, reports said.

Salman reached the mall at around 2000 hrs but was unable to enter inside the shop for at least half-an-hour due to the large crowd.

He was led inside through a back door but had to be moved out within minutes without cutting the ribbon.

A press photographer claimed that the people were treated like 'animals' and accused the security guards of whipping onlookers with belts and showering blows with aluminium rods.
