ONGC not to set up refinery in SEZ: Andhra CM

Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), Feb 3: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y SRajasekhara Reddy today said Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)would not set up a refinery in the SEZ here due to technical reasons.

Addressing mediapersons, after visiting the port town, Dr Reddysaid government was on search for another client adding that land wouldbe allocated for the SEZ in Kakinada.

The government was contemplating construction of a channel betweenRajahmundry and Kakinada to drain out the industrial effluents.

Dr Reddy said the 410 km Godavari bund strengthening works, with Rs 580 crore outlay, would begin in March.
