Militant among two killed in J and K

Srinagar, Feb 4 (UNI) A militant was among two people killed and ten others wounded in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.

An official spokesman said one Tavqir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Baitengo, was carrying a hand grenade which exploded in his hand at Court Road in Anantnag, about 50 km from here in south Kashmir this afternoon.

Tavqir and ten others were injured in the blast. The injured were admitted to different hospital where Raviq later died.

Militans shot at and injured one Zahoor Ahmed alias Jana at Khanyar Chowk in the down town city this afternoon.

Jana, a former militant allegedly working with the security forces, later succumbed to his injuries in Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at Soura.
