LJP-Cong combine can be a strong alternative in UP: Paswan

Patna, Feb 4 (UNI) Union Steel and Fertiliser Minister and senior LJP leader Ramvilas Paswan today claimed that an LJP-Congress alliance could emerge as a strong alternative in Uttar Pradesh if Congress agreed to it.

Mr Paswan told newspersons here that the people of UP were frustrated with the BSP, SP and BJP and were eagerly pondering over an alernative. He said though the assembly elections had not been announced in UP but the LJP was moving ahead to contest there, in alliance with the Janvikash Morcha of former Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh.

He announced to hold a rally in UP on April 24 in Ambedkar ground in this connection.

Mr Paswan further stated that his party was contesting 42 assembly seats in Punjab, 20 in Uttaranchal and nominations on 22 seats had been filed in Manipur assembly elections. The Minister also disclosed his plan of visiting the states undergoing assembly elections where his party was in the fray.
