Include non-practicing allowance to nurses in Pay Commn
Puducherry, Feb 4 (UNI) All India Government Nurses Federation secretary general G K Khurana today said the provision of non-practicing allowance to government nurses should be included in the Sixth Pay Commission.
Talking to newspersons here, Ms Khurana said the nurses were demanding the provison in line with doctors.
Demanding that their pay-scale be enhanced to Rs 6500 from Rs 5500, she said the nurses should not be appointed in government service on contract basis.
Ms Khurana, who wanted the setting up of a nursing council in Puducherry, said the members of the federation would take out a procession initially to press these demands and if it was not conceded, they would go on a one-day strike.
Earlier, along with assistant secretary Manju Sharma, Ms Khurana interacted with the nurses in the Union Territory.
