Bhopal, Feb 4 (UNI) All-India Congress Committee General Secretary and former chief minister Digvijay Singh today blamed the Madhya Pradesh government's ''erroneous'' policies for the state sliding to the 21st position in the Centre's E-readiness Assessment Report, 2005.

''The state lagged behind in the information technology sector during the Bharatiya Janata Party regime's tenure. It did not pay attention to IT and not a single IT industrial unit was set up over the past three years,'' he said in a release issued here.

The Congress leader alleged that the pace of action on his proposals, made during Congress rule for establishing IT parks, has slowed down. One such park is being set up at Indore.

''For encouraging IT, my government implemented the Gyandoot scheme and another whereby markets were to be linked with the market board,'' Mr Singh added.
