CPWD bags Rs 26,000cr contracts from abroad
Jaisalmer, Feb 4: The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is going global by bagging construction projects worth Rs 26,000 crore abroad, its Director General A N Chakravorthy said.
The CPWD has won several contracts abroad with the most prestigious one being the construction of the Parliament building in Afganisatan and an Assembly building in China, he said.
The construction work for the Parliament building has already commenced while the work for the Assembly building would take off shortly.
Building work of 3,000 quarters for the army personnel is on in Bikaner, Suratgarh and Ganganagar in Rajasthan, he added that the CPWD is also engaged in the fencing work on Bangladesh border.
