Cong leader flays TDP
Vijayawada, Feb 4 (UNI) Senior Congress Leader and Kankipadu Legislator Devineni Rajasekhar today flayed the TDP leaders of Krishna district for levelling baseless allegations against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his government.
Talking to reporters here, he claimed that the government was implementing many welfare measures for the people in the state.
The government had increased the old age pension to Rs 200 from Rs 75 and waived electricity bills of farmers to the tune of Rs 1800 crore.
Allaying fears of the people in Krishna district, Senior Congress Leader and MLA M Buddha Prasad, present on the occasion, said the Krishna delta would not be affected if the water discharge from the Pothireddypadu Head Regulator was increased.
He said the construction works of Pulichintala Project on Krishna river was on and it would be completed soon.
