CAIT advocates 'Bharatratna' for E Sridharan
New Delhi, Feb 4 (UNI) The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has advocated that 'Bharatratna' be conferred on E Sridharan whose dedicated efforts have resulted into establishments of mega metro rail project in Delhi.
''The way in which the metro work has been accomplished in Delhi against heavy odds is an example of exemplary services rendered by Mr Shreedharan,'' CAIT said in a statement today.
It further said for such a distinguished work, Mr Shridharan should be honoured with nations' highest civilian award 'Bharatratna' and other officers must take inspiration from him.
In addition, the Confederation has rendered that all business establishments that exist on December 31, 2006, should be regularised in Master Plan 2021 without any kind of categorisation. In any case if traders of negative category or otherwise are likely to be displaced, a comprehensive package with a reasonable time of relocation should be provided in the master plan 2021, it added.
The CAIT has also said the existing shops in DDA flats and basement and commercial activities in industrial areas should be also allowed to continue because Delhi is having a trade distribution character and not a industrial character.
