BSP leader's abducted son rescued

Mainpuri, Feb 4 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Uttar Pradesh Police rescued the Bhaujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader's son from the clutches of the abductors here this afternoon.

On January 23, Nitin Chauhan -- son of BSP district coordinator Suman Chauhan -- was kidnapped by armed miscreants. Later, the accused had demanded Rs 51 lakh as ransom.

Acting on a tip-off, cops reached the Kashni police station area and rescued Nitin, police said.

The accused, however, managed to escape.

A search for the culprits was on.
