AMC Mayor Ashwini Hatwalne resigns

Akola, Feb 4 (UNI) Accepting the defeat of the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in the recent Akola Municipal Corporation (AMC) lections, Mayor Ms Ashwini Hatwalne (BJP) has resigned from her post.

According to official sources, Ms Hatwalne forwarded the resingation letter to the AMC Commisioner yesterday.

She resigned from the post as per section 19 (4) of the Mumbai Provential Municipal Corporation Act 1949, one month earlier of the expiry of her term, which was due next month.

Ms Hatwalne expressed satisfaction about her service to the city and thanked Mr Pandurang Fundkar, Mr Sanjay Dhotre Mr Gowardhan Sharma, other BJP leaders and Shiv Sena leader Mr Gopikisan Bajoriya for their co-operation.
