21 prostitutes and 27 clients arrested at Pune
Pune, Feb 4 (UNI) Twentyone prostitutes and twentyseven clients were today arrested following a raid at a lodge at Handewadi-Katraj bypass in rural Pune.
Police said that acting on a tip-off they raided a lodge 'Kala Kendra' and arrested 21 prostitutes and 27 clients. Among the arrested are three minor girls who have been sent to a remand home.
The remaining were booked under section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and released on bail later, they said.
However, efforts are underway to trace the owner of the lodge, who is absconding, police added.
