Uganda delegation soon to woo Indian Inc
Coimbatore, Feb 3 (UNI) Uganda Deputy Prime Minister A M Kiruda Kivejinja today said his country 's President Yoweri K Museveni, along with a delegation, will soon visit India to attract Indian Inc to their country.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Kivejinja, citing booming Indian economy said India would be soon placed in the group of strong developed nations.
On his country's agricultural industry, he said 80 per cent of the population living in the rural area cultivated crops, without using fertilizers, for their personal needs.
He said to develop Uganda, which receives rainfall twice in a year, into a agricultural export zone, the government would seek technological support from India.
Citing India's large demand for oil, he said his country was looking into possibility of increasing the oil seed exports to India. Mr Kirunda said the country by exporting Coffee, Tea, Cotton and fish to European countries, China and America was generating an amount of about 600 million US dollars.
The Uganda government will soon initiate dialogues with India and China to bring in new technologies to increase oil extraction from oils seeds, he added.
