Two brothers drown in Narmada canal

Ahmedabad, Feb 3 (UNI) Two brothers drowned in Narmada canal today when they went to perform the last rites of their father at Dabodra area of Gandhinagar district.

Police said the mishap occurred when one brother accidentally slipped into the deep water, while another brother jumped into the canal to rescue him.

The deceased were identified as Deepakbhai Balkrishna Shinde (50) and Parsottambhai Shinde (42).

Later, the bodies were fished out from the canal and sent to Gandhinagar Civil hospital for post-mortem.
