Thatched houses gutted

Puducherry, Feb 3 (UNI) Five thatched houses were gutted in a fire at Ariyankuppam near here today.

According to fire service sources an electrical short circuit in a house caused the fire which spread to adjoining houses. Fire tenders from Puducherry doused the flames.

Property worth Rs one lakh was damaged in the fire.
