Speed up housing projects: CM

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to complete INDIRAMMA housing scheme in the district, at the earliest.

Reviewing the work he said under the scheme 83,091 houses in villages and 14,558 in towns would be completed soon. Of the rural housing, 47,512 were under construction.

He expressed happiness over the progress in irrigation projects works like Indirasagar Left Canal, Pushkara Lift Irrigation and land acquistion.

The review meetings would help in identifying the obstacles in the projects he said adding the government wished to keep away middlemen in such schemes by transfering accountability solely to the officials for better implementation.
