Sonia studies party performance in Mah civic polls

Mumbai, Feb 3: UPA chairperson and AICC President Sonia Gandhi has taken serious note of the party's performance in Maharashtra civic polls, including the high-profile Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Congress sources said Ms Gandhi summoned AICC general secretary Margaret Alva to her residence '10,Janpath' and took detailed briefing and analysis on the party performance. Maharashtra Congress Chief Prabha Rau has already left for Delhi to meet the leadership.

With the Assembly polls scheduled in 2009, a reshuffle in the state unit is likely to be effected, sources added.
