Rahul threatens to sue US men for scurrilous writing
New Delhi, Feb 3: Congress Spokesman and distinguished lawyer Abhishek Singhvi has on behalf of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi served a legal notice to two men claiming to be members of Bajrang Dal who have indulged in character assassination of Mrs Sonia Gandhi's son by allegedly putting on a website vulgar, obscene and defamatory matters about him.
Condemning the act by the two men, Mr Singhvi told reporters today that it was generally difficult to identify the persons who indulge in such things on the internet, but somehow it had come to light that the two men, Rohit Vyasman and Ezbored, lived in America. Their post box numbers had also been detected and legal notice sent to him through courier.
The notice stated that they and those colluding with them in the criminal and indecent act could be prosecuted. Attempt would be made to see to it that they received such punishment under the law as would deter anybody thinking of indulging in such irresponsible act.
Calling it as "gutter writing", Mr Singhvi said the notice had been served to put on record "our deep disgust" at the obscene, scurrilous and low level writing. "To ignore it would mean giving recognition to such scurrilous writing," he said. "Hence we lodge our written protest to put it before the society."
