People judge police effectiveness by its quality services

Hyderabad, Feb 3 (UNI) Osmania University Dean Professor F D Vakil today said the public judged police effectiveness not by their success in crime control, but in terms of quality service.

Delivering the 11th Professor Venugopal Rao Memorial lecture on 'Police and People's Expectations', organised by Andhra Pradesh Police Academy here, Mr Vakil said the law enforcement by its nature was coercive and police indeed faced challenges on multiple issues as part of their service.

He opined that the people were well aware that police held a special duty not only to discharge what is morally right in their job but also what appears to be moral and just, a press release said.
