Kathmandu, Feb 3 (UNI) At least one protester was killed and over dozen others were injured during clashes between the police and the agitating activists of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) in the southern town of Birgunj this afternoon.

Speaking at a news conference in Kathmandu today, MJF chairman Upendra Yadav said formal talks with the government cannot begin before the Home Minister resigns.
At least 14 people have died so far in violence during protests organised in eastern and southern Terai by Madhesi groups, demanding amendment in the interim constitution to incorporate proportional representation based on population and a federal system.
