One held for assaulting cop

Chennai, Feb 3 (UNI) The airport police today arrested a man for allegedly manhandling a head constable at Anna International Airport here.

Police said, A Navaneethakrishnan (28) of Choolaimedu, who came to the airport to see off his friend, had a quarrel with head constable Devaraj attached to the Airport Police Station. Mr Devraj was assigned for security arrangements at the departure area.

Navaneethakrishnan allegedly attacked Mr Devraj with his helmet, injuring his head. He was admitted to Government Hospital, Chrompet.

The arrested was remanded to judicial custody, police added.
