Normalcy limping back in MP town

Rajgarh(MP), Feb 3 (UNI) Normalcy is limping back in Bioara town in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district, where curfew was imposed on Wednesday following arson and violence due to mounting communal tension over removal of posters relating to a religious congregation.

''No untoward incident has been reported during the curfew relaxation for two hours from 0700 hours today'', District Collector G P Tiwari said, adding the situation was under control.

A total of 60 people had been arrested so far in connection with the violent incidents wherein two vehicles were torched and a dozen shops ransacked. Of them, 43 had been remanded to jail. Police and security personnel were patrolling sensitive areas.

Meanwhile, State Congress President Subhash Yadav, who arrived here to visit the violence-hit areas, was not allowed to tour curfew-bound areas. He, however, submitted a memorandum to the district authorities demanding action against the guilty and compensation to the affected.

Mr Yadav also alleged that the BJP was attempting to create riots at different places in the state on the ''Gujarat pattern''.

The RSS was running the administration during the BJP regime, he added.
