Lucknow Group HQ awarded as best NCC group in UP

Lucknow, Feb 3 (UNI) The Governor's Banner for the best NCC group in Uttar Pradesh was awarded to the Lucknow Group HQ Col K P S Khati here today.

An NCC award presentation ceremony presided over by UP Governor T V Rajeshwar was held within the portals of the Raj Bhavan, where he presented six gold and silver medals to the cadets of all wings -- the Army, the Navy and the Air Force comprising junior and senior division boy and girl cadets, who were awarded as first and second in the Inter Group Best Cadet competition.

The Governor's Banner for the best NCC group was warded to Lucknow Group HQ COL K P S Khati, while Group Commander, NCC Group HQ Lucknow received the coveted banner from the Governor.

Mr Rajeshwar, in his address, congratulated the cadets for their achievements and encouraged them to face the challenges before them with determination, integrity and honesty -- the qualities that the NCC training had infused in them to become responsible and patriotic citizens of India.

This prestigious event is held annually and is the culmination of the NCC training year from April 1 to March 31.
