Haryana: Rs 407 crore plan for boosting power

Chandigarh, Feb 3 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has chalked out a Rs 407 crore plan to strengthen and renovate power transmission and distribution system in Hisar and Fatehabad districts.

A DHBVN spokesman today said that under this comprehensive plan, DHBVN and the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) would construct 28 new substations of different levels and augment capacity of 18 existing substations.

The new substations include a 220 KV substation at Bhuna, eight substations of 132 KV level and 19 substations of 33 KV level at different places in the districts. Most of the 33 KV substations are being set up in villages.

The Nigam plans to renovate complete distribution system in about 500 villages of the Hisar circle under its programmes of creating High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) and Low Voltage Distribution System (LVDS) at a cost of about Rs 190 crore.
