Doc need to undergo research in Naturopathy: Official
Hyderabad, Feb 3: State Commissioner of AYUSH, Department of Health and Family welfare, DR Garg has stressed the need for taking up research work by doctors to popularise the age old Indian medical system Naturppathy.
Inaugurating a two-day national seminar on 'bio-ethics in medicine, its application to naturopathy and yoga research and practice', organised by Sarvodaya trust here, Dr Garg said the government was ready to set up Naturopathy and Yoga medical colleges with the private partnerships, as the public demand was increasing in the state.
Stating that yoga was becoming popular as there was a growing awareness among people that it was a fullfledged drugless system of health care, he said that the government was also supporting the Naturopathy and issued notification for Naturopathy Hospitals to get registered for government employees to get reimbursement on their medical bills.
About 200 delegates from across the country had attended the national convention, a statement said yesterday.
