Devotees flay Trust administration

Chennai, Feb 3 (UNI) A section of devotees of Yogiram Surat Kumar, popularly known as Visiri Samiyar of Tiruvannmalai, led by S Parthasarathy today questioned the functioning of the Ashram under the leadership of Trust chairman and former Madras High Court Judge Justice T S Arunachalam.

Mr Parthasarathy told newspersons here today that Mr Arunachalam, who constructed a temple at the Ashram against the wish of Swamiji, had violated all the spiritual norms and erected a 'Sivalingam' on the memorial of Yogiram Surat Kumar and prevented the followers of Swamiji to worship at the Swamiji's memorial.

He alleged that Mr Arunachalam was not allowing the non-Brahmins to worship at the memorial besides showing partiality in treating the devotees and indulging in several irregularities in the trust administration.

He also charged that Mr Arunachalam instigated his supporters to take revenge upon him.

Mr Parthasarathy appealed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to take over the Yogiram Surat Kumar Ashram immediately and to constitute a new board of trustees to look after the administration of the ashram, under the direct supervision of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department.
