Customs, BSF start joint op near Indo-Bangla border
Bongaon, Feb 3: Anti-corruption cell of Customs and Border Security Force (BSF) have begun a joint operation to book smugglers involved in crime along the Indo-Bangladesh border today.
According to BSF sources, the operation was undertaken following seizure of about 100 Motorola cell phone sets here yesterday evening.
A smuggler allegedly left a carry bag with the cell phones on the road as he was chased by the BSF personnel on duty.
The cell phone sets had no SIM cards, the source said.
Incidentally, the smuggler managed to escape giving least scope to apprehend him, the source said adding the cell phone sets were handed over to the customs authorities here.
Later, both Customs and BSF undertook a joint operation, the source said.
