Constable commits suicide in Haryana

Yamunanagar, Feb 3 (UNI) A Haryana Police constable allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Mandebar village of this district, police said today.

Constable Bhagwant Singh (33), posted at Ladwa police station in Kurukshetra district, was found lying in unconscious condition near the railway track at Mandebar village. He was taken to hospital where he died later.

In a suicide note found in his pocket, Bhagwant claimed he was feeling insulted after being allegedly beaten up by his SHO for being absent on duty on January 29.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) had registered a case in this connection while Bhagwant's body had been sent for a post mortem, police said.
