Congress veteran S C Shukla critical

Raipur, Feb 3 (UNI) Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh Shayma Charan Shukla, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital here, continues to be in a critical condition, doctors said today.

Doctors attending on him said the 81-year-old Congress leader, who was suffering from cancer and cardiac problems, had also developed respiratory problems.

At present, he is on ventilator support.

Mr Shukla, who was Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh thrice during 1969, 1975 and in 1989, was undergoing treatment at a Delhi hospital for the last few months. Three days back, he was shifted to a hospital in the state capital.

Former Union Minister Vidya Charan Shukla, who is his younger brother, is attending on the ailing Congress leader.
