BSP promises free education and medicine for poor

Chandigarh, Feb 3 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) with the slogan 'free education and free medicine' for the poor today released the party manifesto for the forthcoming Punjab assembly elections.

Releasing the manifesto here, party's national general secretary and Punjab in charge Narinder Kashyap promised to provide free education from class first to post graduate level and free medicine in all the government hospitals to the poor population of the state if voted to power.

He said the party would also provide free flour, pulses, rice and salt to all the below poverty line (BPL) families in Punjab, besides free houses.

The BSP also promised to erradicate corruption, control price rise and to give employment to all the eligible candidates in the state.

The manifesto further said all the government land lying unused in Punjab would be given to SC, BC and BPL families for the purpose of farming with free tubewell connection.

The party resovled to form legislative council in Punjab on the pattern of Uttar Pradesh to further strengthen democratic set up in the state.

Mr Kashyap said for the betterment of the farming community, his part would put a demand before the Centre to make farmers party while deciding the prices of the crop.

He gave assurance of security and dignity to mediapersons besides other welfare measures.

After the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) combine, BSP is the only party contesting on all the 117 seats for the February 13 elections.
