Two smugglers arrested with 35 kgs charas
Jammu, Feb 2 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested two persons and recovered 35 kilograms of charas from a truck in Udhampur district last evening, police today said.
A police party intercepted a truck, which was loaded with animal skins, under the juridiction of Udhampur police station and recovered 35 kgs charas which was concealed beneath the driver's seat and in the tool box.
The vehicle was immediately seized and two persons, including the driver, were arrested who have been identified as Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohd Ismail Wani and Ghulam Mohd, son of Mohd Akbar Tantroo, both the residents of Bijbehara in Anantnag district.
A case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPSA) has been registered against them and further investigations were on, police said.
