Thera-Band's exercise products launched

Kolkata, Feb 2 (UNI) Thera-Band, a leading brand of elastic resistance exercise products was launched here today.

Marketed in the country by MedTECH, Thera-Band is a successful brand of exercise products which has been targetting physiotherapists and ortho-surgeons all over the world.

Addressing a press conference, jointly held by MedTECH and Hygenic Corporation, which manufactures and markets Thera-Band in US, MedTECH spokesperson Ashish Thakur also announced MedTECH's initiative to set up the Thera-Band Academy of India for research and education in the field of advanced methods of treating patients.

The academy is targetted towards educating physiotherapists, ortho-surgeons, and other specialised medical professionals enabling them to serve their patients better, Mr Thakur said.

Speaking at the launch, Manager of Clinical Education and Research for Thera-Band Academy Phil Page said'' Fitness is becoming an important part of the Indian mindset. We believe that this is the right time to launch Thera-Band in the country.'' Thera-Band serves a large population of sportsmen, physiotherapists and the older generation who needs better technology to help them cope with old-age, Mr Page said.

Among the nations that Thera-Band presently serves, US, Germany, Japan and UK are the principles ones.
