Sonia's Punjab visit advanced

Phagwara, Feb 2 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi will hit the campaign trail in Punjab on February seven instead of February eight as announced earlier.

Ms Gandhi would address a rally in Phagwara town of Kapurthala district on February seven instead of February eight, Congress Poll Observor Chander Kumar, MP, said here today.

As per a tentative programme announced earlier, Ms Gandhi was scheduled to visit Phagwara on February eight and some other places in the state on February ten to campaign for the coming assembly elections.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is scheduled to undertake a two-day election tour in the state on February 5 and 6. Dr Singh is slated to tour Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalanhdar and Patiala during his two-day visit.
