Patna, Feb 2 (UNI) Opposition RJD today urged Bihar Governor R S Gavai to immediately intervene and issue directions to the state government for proper execution of developmental programmes.

A delegation of the RJD led by Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh called on Mr Gavai after paying floral tributes at the ''Shaheed Smarak'' where the Vikas March taken out by the RJD culminated and urged him to intervene for resolving the ''burning issues'' of the state. Accompanied by RJD state president Abdul Bari Siddiqui, MP, Ramkripal Yadav, Munshi Lal Rai, Ramvichar Rai and Mithilesh Kumar Yadav, Mr Singh handed over the memorandum to the Governor and alleged that the developmental activities had taken a backseat under the present regime.

They demanded construction of a museum in Vaishali to keep the urn of Lord Buddha, as it was excavated there in 1958 by noted historian and archaeologist Dr Altekar. They also drew the attention of the Governor towards the decision of the previous RJD government which had issued a notification for shifting the urn to Vaishali and alleged that the present NDA government was delaying the process.

They also requested the Governor to ensure shifting the urn to Vaishali as it would attract foreigners.
