Patil meets President, Jharkhand Governor

New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil today met President A P J Abdul Kalam at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and briefed him about various issues.

Though the Home Minister refused to divulge details of the discussions, it is understood that he briefed the president about the situation in Gorakhpur and other matters related to security of the country.

Significantly, Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal had visited the Eastern UP town to assess the situation at the grassroot level.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi today met the Home Minister at North Block today. The sources described the meeting as a courtesy call by the Governor.
