Security forces gunned a militant in Surankote

Jammu, Feb 2: In a pre-dawn operation, security forces today gunned down a militant in Surankote tehsil of bordering Poonch district here, an official spokesman said.

A joint team of 46 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and police launched a search and cordom operation in the forest area of Surankote and shot a militant in an encounter at Mohra-Bichai, the spokesman said.

The identity of the militant was yet to be ascertained.
