Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi fellowships, awards announced
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 2: Kathakali exponent Kalamandalam Gopi, theatre artist K P A C Khan and T V Gopalakrishnan (Mridangam) have won the fellowships of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi for 2006.
The Sangeetha Nataka Akademi awards went to G Seethalakshmiammal (classical music), C Rajendran (violin), Pazhayannur K G Krishnankutty (Nagaswaram), Alappuzha Chandrasekharan Nair (thalavadyam), K P A C Chandrasekharan (light music), Poovachal Khader (light song), Neeleswaram Sreedharan (drama - actor), Leela Panicker (drama- actress), Karivellur Murali (playwright), Kalamandalam Vasudevan (Kathakali), Deepthi Omcheri (Mohiniattaom), Jancy Sebastian Tripoonithura (dance- margamkali), Paynkulam Damodara Chakyar (koodiyattam) , Margi Somadas (chenda), Beban Kaimaparamban (broadcasting), Krishnan Anjoottan (theyyam), Manampoor D Radhakrishnan (kathaprasangam).
Jayaprakash Kulur and C H Gopalan Kurikkal bagged the endowment awards.
The awards were announced here by state Culture Minister M A Baby and Akademi chairman Muraleedharan.
The fellowships carried Rs 15,000, a citation and a plaque. The awards carried Rs. 7,500, besides a citation and plaque.
