IIM-Kozhikode earmarks 8.33 pc quota for OBCs

Kozhikode, Feb 2: The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) will allocate 8.33 per cent seats for OBC students from the next academic year as part of its plan to meet the stipulated 27 per cent quota in a phased manner.

Admissions chairperson P R Bhatt said the institute would admit 15 students from Other Backward Classes, out of a total intake of 180, from the next academic year.

The institute had decided to increase the quota in a phased manner to equal the 27 per cent stipulation by the Human Resource Development Ministry, another top official today said.

There was no proposal to raise the intake of students or hike the fee structure at present, Mr Bhatt added.
