Cooking gas seized

Jabalpur, Feb 2 (UNI) Five cooking gas cylinders were seized in a raid on three business establishments in this district, police said.

Sub-Divisional Officer Virendra Singh said two cylinders were seized each from two restaurants and one from another restaurant during the raid yesterday.

The raid was carried out as special drive to curb the misuse of kerosene and cooking gas.

A case was registered under the Essential Commodities Act.

During the raid, an illegal bar was found operating in one of the restaurant. Assistant Excise Officer S K Oraon reached the spot and several bottles of beer and foreign-branded liquor were seized.

A case was registered against the restaurant owner under the Excise Act.
