BJP State President held
Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 2 (UNI) Police today arrested BJP State President Bandaru Dattatreya and other district leaders when they tried to lay seige to the District Collectorate in Anantapur Town demanding the government to supply power for nine hours for the agriculture sector in the state.
As part of the party's statewide agitational programme against the government's indifferent attitude towards solving the problems of the poor peasants, the BJP activists tried to a lay seige to the District Collector office.
However, police prevented them and arrested Mr Dattatreya and other BJP leaders.
Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Dattatreya alleged the state government has failed to fulfil its promises made during the elections.
He also alleged the Congress Government had cheated farmers by not supplying sufficient power to the agriculture sector.
