Baloo (sand) carnage accused arrested

Lakhisarai, Feb 2 (UNI) Police today arrested Hareram Yadav, the main accused in the infamous 2000 Baloo carnage, from Chandanvasa village in Bigariya riverine in Bihar's Lakhisarai district.

The Baloo carnage which took place in May 2000 in Lakhisarai district claimed more than ten lives.

District police superintendent R Mallar Viz said acting on a tip off, sleuths of police raided a hideout at Chandvasa village and arrested Hareram along with his associate Gongu Yadav.

Two countrymade pistols and several live cartridges were recovered from the spot during a search operation.

Hareram was wanted in connection with several cases of murder and kidnapping besides the infamous Baloo carnage, she added.
