Youth raises Telangana slogans

Hyderabad, Feb 1 (UNI) An activist of the Telangana Students Union created a flutter raising slogans in support of statehood even as President A P J Abdul Kalam rose to deliver convocation address at the Osmania University today.

Even as M Phil student Suman(24) raised slogans against Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and waved a placard demanding separate Telangana state, security personnel immediately whisked him away to the Amberpet Police Station.

The President then began his address, stressing on achieving energy independence by 2030.
