Yahoo India now in 7 Indian languages
Kolkata, Feb 1(UNI) Yahoo! India portal will now be available in seven Indian languages--Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Punjabi and Gujarati.
A company release said here today that an user would be able to access their favourite content-related features in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Punjabi and Gujarati.
''Innovation is the key driver for our product development, in order to make Yahoo relevant to the 200 million Indians that will come online in the next few years. This will add value and excitement for our users and advertisers.'' said Managing Director of Yahoo! India George Zacharias.
Yahoo, India's diverse content offering to its language users, would offer latest news on national, international, regional, sports and business issues.
The release said the localisation of the Yahoo! India portal would revolutionise user's experience and invite more users to access information on a daily basis for news, reviews and events happening around them.
It mentioned that the users can visit the main www.yahoo.co.in website and use the regional language buttons on the top navigation bar of the site to access this site in their favourite Indian language. They can also access their site.
Indichat module in the website would also facilitate chatting in nine regional languages now. The Yahoo! Indichat plug-in enables users to chat in Hindi, Kannada,Tamil,Telugu, Malayalam, Punjabi, Bengali.
