Vaiko slams Thackeray's remarks on Kalam

Chennai, Feb 1 (UNI) Marumalarchi DMK (MDMK) General Secretary Vaiko today condemned Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray for his alleged remarks against President A P J Abdul Kalam.

Dr Kalam was a world renowned scientist and a great human. He had transcended greater heights through his knowledge and visionary steps in service of the nation, he said in a statement here.

Stating it was the Centre to decide on implementation of capital punishment, Mr Vaiko said it was highly condemnable to cast aspersions on him.
