Two arrested for harrassing woman for dowry

New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested two persons for harrassing a woman for dowry in the Lahori gate area of Old Delhi.

The arrested included the husband and the fathwer-in-law of the victim.

Samir Khan, the husband of 18-year-old Hazira Begum, and his father Hamid Khan were arrested by the police yesterday from the Old Delhi area after the woman complained that they harrased her for dowry and also tried to kill her yesterday after dousing her with Kerosene.

According to Hazita, Samir called her to his factory in Lahori gate last evening where he, along with his mother Farida and sister Shahin tried to kill her after dousing her with kerosene. However, Hazira's mother and aunt, who had come with her rescued her by shouting for help.

Though Shahin and Farida escaped, Sachin was arrested by the police along with his father Hamid for harrassing his wife for dowry.
