Scribe injured in shooting in Haryana

Fatehabad, Feb 1 (UNI) Unidentified assailants shot at and seriously injured a journalist working for a vernacular daily at Bhattu Kalan town in this district last night, police said today.

Reporter Ran Singh Machra was returning to his Model Town residence on his motorcycle late last night when some unidentified persons came in a Maruti car and fired at him from point blank range from a pistol.

Mr Machra, who was seriously injured in the incident, was rushed to a private hospital at Hisar where he was immediately operated upon to extract a bullet from his stomach.

Doctors attending on the reporter, however, said he was out of danger.
