Residents block Cuddalore-Puducherry road

Puducherry, Feb 1 (UNI) Residents of Nainaarmandapam near here today resorted to a road blockade on the Cuddalore-Puducherry road disrupting traffic for about half an hour.

They were demanding provision of one acre of land to the Nagamuthumariyamman temple from the land adjacent to the temple.

Police held talks with the agitators and persuaded them to call off their stir. They later took out a procession to the Legislative Assembly and submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister N Rangasamy in this regard.
