Railway Convention Committee recommendations accepted: Cabinet

New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The Cabinet today decided to implement the recommendations of the Railway Convention Committee contained in its Fifth Report (2004) relating to rate of dividend payable by the Railways to the general revenues.

The recommendations also pertain to concessions to be given by the general revenues to the Railways for the year 2006-07, the quantum of appropriations to the Depreciation Reserve Fund, Pension Fund and the determination of interest on the various Railway funds, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters.

The Cabinet gave its approval for moving a resolution in Parliament in this regard.
