President offer prayers at Raghavendra mutt at Mantralayam

Hyderabad, Feb 1 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today offered prayers at the famed Sri Raghavendra Swamy temple at Mantralayam in Kurnool district, about 280 km from here.

The President, who reached the temple town from Hyderabad, was received with ''Poorna Kumbham'' (full temple honours) by the temple authorities.

The President, who was in the temple for an hour, offered ''pada pooja'' for ''Prahalada Rayalu'', the seat of Madhwa Sect, the temple authorities said.

Later, the mutt head Pontiff Sri Sri Sushmeendra Theertha Swamiji blessed the President.
