PPCC forms election campaign committees

Chandigarh, Feb 1 (UNI) The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) today formed a committee for the election campaign in the state, besides three other committees for the Malwa, Doaba and Majha regions of Punjab.

This was stated by Punjab Congress Disciplinary Action Committee president Gopal Krishan Chatrath in presence of Himachal Pradesh Congress Chief Viplove Thakur here.

Congress has appointed AICC secretary and Goa MP Shanta Ram Naik as incharge of Malwa region, former Union Minister Mohsina Kidwai and MP Arun Kumar as incharge of Doaba region and Santosh Bagrodia as incharge of Majha region, Mr Chatrath said.

Mr Chatrath said under the chairmanship of former minister Jasbir Singh, a 25-member state campaign committee was formed besides three other committees for Malwa, Majha and Doaba regions of the state.

The state committee consists of Vidhan Sabha speaker Dr Kewal Krishan, former MP Jagmeet Singh Brar, Patiala MP Praneet Kaur, Raja Malwinder Singh among others, he said.
